This month, I have seen a real influx of ‘on the day’ wedding stationery orders, which means we are definitely into wedding season now, and not forgetting THE WEDDING OF THE YEAR! Prince Harry & the beautiful Meghan got married and it was UH-MAY-ZING. I have been working on all aspects of stationery including place names, table names, menu cards and table plans, and I have to say I love working on these sorts of pieces. Read on to find out what I’ve been up to in more detail, and different things I’ve been loving this month.
The Royal Wedding
We obviously have to start with the Royal Wedding, which took place on 19th May. What an incredible day; whether you love the Royal Family or hate them, you can't deny that they know how to put on a wedding!! I thought Meghan's dresses were amazing and there were so many beautiful moments throughout the day. I watched the whole thing and I just thought it was incredible, and it was so lovely to see the country come together for something positive for a change!
Rose Gold Foiling
If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, you’ll have seen that I have just announced I can now foil in rose gold. This is a BIG deal for me, as it’s the biggest request I get when it comes to stationery requirements, and it’s always been so frustrating that I haven’t been able to do it. Well, now I can! This means I can now foil in rose gold, copper, silver, gold, red, blue and green. I sent my first order to print with rose gold last week so I can’t wait to start sharing work with this colour scheme! If you’d like to discuss what we can do with rose gold, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
On the Day Stationery
As I mentioned above, we are truly in the swing of wedding season now. This means that my diary gets fuller and there are a lot of different pieces to complete for each wedding that’s coming up. Whether it’s place names, table names, table plans, menu cards, signs, or thank you cards; you name it, I’m working on it!
It’s so exciting for me to work with a couple right through the process of their engagement and wedding day, as we can really show a full theme from the save the dates to the ‘on the day’ elements and thank you cards thereafter. I’ll be sharing finished pieces as and when I can, so keep an eye out on my social media in the coming weeks and months. If you'd like to find out more about on the day stationery, click here.
Recently, my friends told me about Finch Bakery, who are based in Great Harwood in Lancashire. With possibly one of the most comical Instagram feeds I’ve ever seen, the team there are so talented and create the most amazing cake jars, cupcakes and cakes for all occasions. They have a huge following on social media and are always incredibly busy; it’s not difficult to see why when you see the quality of their work. I highly recommend checking them out if you’re looking for a cake (but contact them way in advance!). Click here to go to their Instagram.
Whimsical Wonderland Weddings
WWW is a fantastic wedding inspiration website, encompassing all aspects of wedding planning and ideas for your big day. With such a personable tone of voice and a great mix of real weddings, bride diaries and supplier information, you really are sure to find everything you need in one place. The website came into fruition when creator, Lou, planned her own wedding day back in 2010. As I say, there is a huge amount of wedding inspiration and ideas on her fantastic website and I would highly recommend a visit. To head to the website, click here.
The Sugar Shed
My final inspiration this month is the fantastic The Sugar Shed. This brilliant company specialise in printing your photos and text directly on to wood, which then in turn, creates beautiful pieces such as coat hooks, pieces of artwork, and wedding ideas and gifts too.
Owned by Tracy, this Lake District business takes your ideas and memories and allows them to last forever as a beautiful piece in your home. Each piece is bespoke, hand-finished and supports local woodlands and small businesses – what’s not to love about that?!
